In September of 2010, Adam Rodriguez, a native of San Antonio started to pick up his acoustic guitar and eventually his Fender Stratocaster again regularly for the first time since 2003. Back then he was the guitar player for San Antonio's M.C.I.(currently War Criminals). Maintaining contact with them and other live talents in San Antonio soon offered opportunities for him to express his love for recording, alternative music, and the electric guitar.
After suffering a lay off during the recession, and then enduring a longer period of hardship and tribulation associated with an earlier homelessness, and fearing that he may become self destructive, he began to record all the music he had ever written throughout his 20 some years of playing and writing in bands .
During that time, he also recorded a variety of new material and was further re-acquainted with the psychological benefits of playing music. The short term results are his two independently produced, written, recorded and soon to be distributed solo projects. Projects like Granulation which focuses on slower acoustic and post rock songs, and his heavier Speed Metal project -All Your Blood. Both are quickly becoming a formidable player and a potential breaking ground for the Alternative Indie Music scene in San Antonio.
Within a month of its release Granulation's "Casual Wear For Your Brain" debut CD quickly jumped to the 34th position for San Antonio's Alternative genre according to reverbnation.com, and has continued to steadily climb upward to his current 21st spot. All of this without even setting foot on stage yet.
Please join me in welcoming Adam Rodriguez and Granulation back to San Antonio's music scene and his unique and inspiring style of post metal indie guitar playing in his new Granulation project's debut CD “Casual Wear For Your Brain” available online and in stores on February 19, 2011 at: http://www.reverbnation.com/AdamRodriguez
